The guidelines are based on standards that were developed by independent scientific organisations
through periodic and thorough evaluation of scientific studies. The standards include a substantial
safety margin designed to assure the safety of all persons, regardless of age and health. The
exposure standard for wireless handsets employs a unit of measurement known as the Specific
Absorption Rate, or SAR. The tests are performed in positions and locations (e.g., worn on the body)
as required by the FCC for each model of usage.
Pacemakers
Pacemaker manufacturers recommend that a minimum of 15cm (6 inches) be maintained between a
handheld wireless device and a pacemaker to avoid potential interference with the pacemaker. These
recommendations are consistent with independent research and recommendations by Wireless
Technology Research.

You should ALWAYS keep the device more than 15cm (6 inches) from your pacemaker when turned

You should not carry the device in a breast pocket.
If you have any reason to suspect that interference is taking place, turn OFF your device.
